What I did For Summer

I went to New York with my family. We traveled through many states: Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and finally New York. And then we traveled back. I had fun meeting family and riding in the car.

Grown Up

A couple of weeks ago I told my hairdresser I would like a "grown up" haircut, Here it is from the front, looking pretty much like it did before.

The real difference is in the back, which is a shaped bob. I look very cute and grown up.

Yesterday Momma and Daddy took me to see my first "grown up" movie in the theatre - we saw Tangled, we ate nachos and cheese (Great Grandma would have had a heart attack about that), we sat in a chair that would not stay down because I do not weigh enough or or my legs are not long enough to hold it down, we were amazed by the big screen and the big sound ("it's too loud, Momma").

I am so excited to do all these neat new grown up things!

My First Race

Momma and I ran a race together - my first race! We did the one mile fun run but we ended up coming in right at the end with all the runners who did the 5K - it was so exciting! I did most of the walking, basically being in the stroller only for little bits at a time. We did the race for the cure - participating with most of our Utah tribe. I really liked how it was only girls - no boys allowed!

Here I am holding Ted while I check my email. Ted is my best friend - I've had him since I was born and my family in Australia sent me my Ted. He is worn, he is dirty - he used to be plushy pink and now we call him "Brown Ted" because he is a little faded. If I don't have him I can't sleep and I cry. My mom is very concerned about keeping an ever present eye on Ted so I don't lose him - and now my favorite game is to hide Ted and then say to Momma "where's Ted" and she goes into a full funny melt down. I follow her around the house mimicking her and then eventually I find him, since I always knew where he was, and laugh at Momma who is completely freaking out.

Went to my first Princess party this weekend. I had fun. I took a swing at a pinata, rode around in my friend's princess jeep, wore a dress and a crown and took home many bracelets and a wand. One of my Mama's favorite people on the planet is her Aunt Anne, who is my Great Aunt Anne. She came to visit in January and here we are playing in my room. For Halloween, I decided to be Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. Primarily because there were pink wings. I got a lot of "good stuff" from people in doorways. Today I put my costume on over my clothes so I could wear the wings again. I LOVE my costume. I also tried to eat Nerds and twizzlers for breakfast - which did not go over well with Momma who says I have to wait until after lunch.

I am doing very well for accomplishments this summer. I can count to ten. I can sing most of the ABCs. And now I can swim. In the baby pool I swim on my own (kind of) and in the big pool Daddy helps me float and I swim.

I had the best trip last week. My Utah family and I went down to Salt Lake City - on the train - and played in the fountain at the cool mall there. I loved the train. I looked out the window saying "choo choo" the whole time. The water at the fountain was not quite as cool - but it was fun to have Daddy chase me around.

Today was my first visit to the dentist. She took a mirror and looked at Mama's teeth, so I looked at them with her. And then we looked at Daddy's teeth. And then we looked at Ted's teeth - but I very politely said "no" when she wanted to look at my teeth. I liked the chair going up and down and I liked wandering into other offices to look at other people's teeth. Everyone thought I was very cute and I got to pick out a toothbrush - given a choice between princesses and pooh and cars - I picked the cars. Because, I am a princess, I don't need them on my toothbrush.

Lacrosse Banquet

My daddy is the coach of a high school lacrosse program. This weekend the team had a banquet. I taught the players how to properly get ground balls.

I did NOT like the trampoline. Even when Daddy was on it with me.

I loved the horses but I let Daddy go by himself because I was just a little too scared to ride them myself. Maybe next summer!!

Last night I watched my Daddy play lacrosse - he was playing his players and he was SO old. Smile. I kept looking around wondering where my family was (as it turns out, Daddy hadn't told Mama in time for her to let people know). Mama took 300 pictures of the game (not hyperbole) on her new camera. So every once in a while I'd say, LILY, and she'd turn and take a few of me. Not enough of me - but a few.

Here I am - helping Mama decorate the tree I am particularly good at taking ornaments off and throwing them on the floor, I have destroyed 4 thus far. And if they survive my toss, I then put them on the tree somewhere else. This has led to an interesting decorating style of no ornaments up the first third of the tree.

I went to my godmother's house for Thanksgiving this year (over the mountains and through the woods to godmother's house we go) and had a great time. I ate a lot of food.
